How do I turn on the handset ringer or remove the symbol which tells me the handset ringer is OFF?

No, the additional phones used to ring, but they now both have the symbol on them indicating that they WON’T ring!!

Turn the handset off using the red button,
Turn it back on again
Check if the message is still on the screen

No worries, press the red button used for ending calls, it has a picture of a red handset on it. Press it and hold it until the phone powers off, you'll also see the on/off symbol next to this button.

Got it, just done that the phone is back on. Apologies have just found the I instructions in the book for switching on the ringer!! So all sorted, thanks for you help anyway.
