My Sony TV model KDL-43WF663 is stuck on one channel and will not respond to the remote control

It responds normally to the three buttons on the TV set. I have fitted new batteries to the remote control but this did not work. Should I buy a new remote control or can I get the old one repaired?

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

I got you.
First of all, let's check if your remote control work.
Please, follow the instructions below to test it:
Press and hold one of the buttons on the remote control. Look at the viewfinder or LCD screen. If the remote control sends a signal, you should see the light in the viewfinder or cellphone screen when you press buttons on the remote control.
