Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?
*****
Nice to meet you, *****!
And what's the brand an model of the sensor?
It's a lacrosse. WS-9160Uv2.
And the whole system it is connected to, can you tell me some details about it too?
That's the only thing connected to the remote. It indicates temperature inside, outside and time. It will connect to more devices such as humidity etc.
Got you and what did you try so far to fix it?
Does the outside unit have a battery and if so, how do yopen it?
Meanwhile, don't hesitate to answer my question above:)
That's about all I know about it.
Yes, but did you try anything to fix it yourself? That's the question:)
It has a flashing red light on the outside unit.
The outside unit looks like this, right?
That's the one. How do I get it open to check the battery without a hammer. I didn't remove the four screws in the back.
No need to remove the screws, and hide the hammer:)
See the three white lines in the middle of it?
Yes, I tried to open it by sliding it off like other things but it won't move. Is that all I have to do?
I'm pretty sure you need to slide it down
Can you send me a pic of your unit?
I'll try it and see again.
To attach pictures to our chat, you need to press the paper clip button in the lower right corner of the chat window. Then you have either to choose an image on your device or take a photo right away. Then confirm sending.
Yah. I don't know but it came off. It may have been frozen from ice.
Great to hear! Can you try swapping the batteries?
I'm doing that now.
Take your time
That did it. Thank you for answering a dumb question.
How do I put the cover back on?
The question is dumb only if it's not asked, *****. You are all good:)
As for the cover, line it up with the rails on the unit and simply slide it up
Just kidding. Thanks for the help. Have a good day 👍
He-he, good one:)
