Red light under VGA

I got a pc and there is a tiny red light under VGA

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Customer Replay

*****

Nice to meet you, *****!

Customer Replay

Likewise

A red light near the VGA indicator means the graphics card is not detected or seated correctly.
Are you able to remove the graphics card and reinsert it?

Customer Replay

Trying right now
give me a moment

As far as I see, you've connected additional power to your Graphics card, so you don't have to connect those 2 additional cables
*****, could you please try to unplug the cable, that goes into your graphics card, near those two additional cables

Customer Replay

I see. I was about to let you know that when i connected one cable, the small one, the light turned off but the fans turned on.
Sure give me a second.

Of course, take your time :)

Customer Replay

I disconnected them. The fans are on but no lights. Nothing appears on my monitor either

Could you be more specific about what you disconnected?

When i disconnect these 2, the fans are spinning loudly. When i connect cable B, the lights turn on and the fans seem to spin more calmly. The red light still shows and nothing appears on the monitor
Everything seemed fine when i first turned on the PC up until i connected the HDMI and noticed that nothing appears on the monitor and that red light was there.

Now, please, power off your computer, align your "A" cable with your "B" cable with a key on an "A" cable pointing to a "B" cable

Customer Replay

Okay i think i got it

You've connected this cable to your graphics card, right?

Customer Replay

Yes

Just to clarify, your computer is off, right?

Customer Replay

Yes

And could you check if your graphics card is plugged all the way into its slot on the motherboard?

Customer Replay

Its connected fine

Got it, now, please try to turn it on and tell me if the VGA light is still red

Customer Replay

Still red.

Could you tell me the model of your motherboard please?

Customer Replay

Sure. Give me one second

Of course, take your time :)

Customer Replay

Im not 100% Sure. In the site it says Motherboard Model Number B660 and its from GIGABYTE. Ill send a picture.

The red line is where i connected the graphics card.

Got it
Just to clarify, is the graphics card plugged?
As of right now

Customer Replay

I turned off the computer and took it out for the picture so no

Got it, could you tell me the model of the CPU you're using? We might try to launch if without a graphics card just to check

Customer Replay

i7-12700F

Oh, it's the F version, so it doesn't have an integrated GPU. Could you try to power it on without a GPU, your VGA light should still light be on?

Customer Replay

Yup VGA light still on

Now, please, power off your computer and plug your graphics card back in

Customer Replay

Alright

Tell me when you're ready :)

Customer Replay

Does the slot i put it in matter?

It really doesn't, but I'd recommend putting it in a second slot, just to check

Customer Replay

Alright

Customer Replay

It works! It shows on the monitor and no more VGA light

That's great!
Just to clarify, you're using an HDMI cable, right?

Customer Replay

Yes

Got it, thanks for clarifying that

Customer Replay

All good

Customer Replay

Im sorry for the bother. This is my first PC so i sort of panicked.

Oh, don't worry about that, you're a lovely person to help :)

Customer Replay

Thank you for your help

Don't forget to screw your graphics card to your case :)

Customer Replay

Right! Thanks for the reminder

Customer Replay

Thank you again. Have a nice day/night.
