My kindle went white and will not anything but white!

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
What troubleshooting have you done so far?

Customer Replay

Turning it off and on, charging it.

Got it
Could you please tell me when and how did the problem occur?

Customer Replay

I was reading and tried to go to the next page

Got it, could you please clarify, when you restart your Kindle, does it start with the white screen?

Customer Replay

No, it has a big S and a few lines and then just turns white.

I see, did you wait for some time until turning it on?

Customer Replay

Yes

Got it
Could you please clarify, how long did you charge it after the problem occurred?

Customer Replay

about 30 or 40 min.

Please, try hooking up the device on a charger until it’s fully charged.
Once the kindle has a full charge which can take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours press and hold down the power button for 10 seconds to restart and power on your device.

Customer Replay

It would be a lot easier if it shows the battery use.

I understand, also, could you please check if the “Orange Light” charging indicator is light?

Customer Replay

There is a green light

Got it, is it solid or blinking?

Customer Replay

solid

So, your Kindle is fully charged.
Please follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect your Kindle from any power source and turn on the device.
  2. Flip your Kindle over. Firmly place the tips of your fingers on the device's back cover and slide it to the right until you successfully remove it.
  3. Straighten out a paperclip. This make-shift tool will prove invaluable in performing a hard reset. If you don't have any paper clips, a sewing needle or toothpick can also be used.
  4. Locate your Kindle's "Reset" button. Stick your paperclip, needle, or toothpick into the tiny hole and press the button. Hold the "Reset" button until your Kindle powers down. The Kindle's screen will then flash several times before the device is restored to its factory settings.

Is everything clear with the provided instruction?

Customer Replay

I have it off but there is not a small hole on the back but there looks like one on the bottom by the power button

Usually, it is at the back, but the location might vary from model to model.

Customer Replay

I don't think that is the reset button, it does not move.

When you push a toothpick or something small into it, do you feel that it goes deeper?

Customer Replay

NO, it does not move. Tried a tooth pick and a paper clip

Got it
Could you please tell me what exact model of Kindle you have?

Customer Replay

Model: M2L3EK

Thank you!
Firstly let's try to soft reset it before hard resetting it.
Please, connect your Kindle to the charger and then press and hold the power button for 1 minute.

Customer Replay

Finally got an Ice pick and did get the button pressed in and it came back to my library. It's back up. THANK UP!!!
