My chromebool says portal state no Internet

Short summary:

  1. Start by turning off your router by unplugging the power from the modem/router.
  2. Wait for 2-3 minutes to ensure the modem/router is fully powered off.
  3. While the router is off, restart your Chromebook.
  4. Once your Chromebook has restarted, reconnect the power cable to the modem/router.
  5. Wait for the Internet light on the router to turn solid, indicating that the router is fully powered on and connected to the internet.
  6. Check if the internet is working properly on your Chromebook now.
  7. If the internet is working fine, the issue should be resolved. If not, continue to the next step.
  8. Disable any preferred networks on your Chromebook. This can help resolve communication conflicts between the devices.
  9. Restart your Chromebook again and ensure the router is still connected and functioning properly.
  10. After your Chromebook reboots, turn on the router and try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network.
  11. Once the router is on, wait for the Internet light to turn solid, indicating a stable connection.
  12. Check if your Chromebook can now connect to the internet successfully.
  13. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to your internet service provider.

You would need to turn off your router and restart the Chromebook.
To reboot your router/modem:

  1. Unplug the power from the modem/router.
  2. Wait 2-3 minutes for the modem to fully power off.
  3. Reconnect the power cable to the modem/router.
  4. Wait for the Internet light to turn solid, then check if the Internet is working properly.
Restarting your Chromebook after disabling the router can resolve communication conflicts between the devices.
After your Chromebook reboots, turn the router back on and try reconnecting.

Disable preferred networks.
