I'm trying to connect Z207 Bluetooth speakers and I'm not getting any sound

It's not with my phone. It's with my laptop.

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Customer Replay

*****

Nice to meet you, *****!
On your laptop:

  1. Go to Settings and Networks and select Bluetooth.
  2. Select name of the Logitech device you want to connect from the list of available devices and click Pair.
Customer Replay

The Logitech device isn't showing up.

Do you see Z207 name?

Customer Replay

No,
Okay. FYI. Speakers are plugged in and turned on. The green light is lit..

Okay. Understood
Do you have Windows 10?

Customer Replay

Windows 11

Ok, thank you
Please try to change the volume:

  1. Navigate to the volume icon on the laptop's taskbar and see if the problem is caused by setting the
    volume too low.
  2. Try switching between different volume levels.
  3. Turn on the Silent and Normal modes one after the other to see if this helps fix the sound issue.
Customer Replay

Still nothing. Where are Silent and Normal modes? When I disconnect the Logitech speakers the laptop's regular speakers work.
But also, why isn't Bluetooth seeing the speakers?

When you click the volume icon on the laptop's taskbar, do you see an arrow in front of the speakers' name?

Customer Replay

No. There's a right arrow that shows a volume level.

My old speakers, small Bose, are still paired in Bluetooth. Maybe I need to remove them?

Check if the audio device is set as the default:

  1. Navigate to the Volume icon on the taskbar and right-click on it.
  2. In the pop-up menu, select "Sounds".
  3. After that, the system will redirect to the "Sounds" mini-window, where you click on the "Playback" tab.
  4. Then, if no sound “output” on the device is set as default, please select one and click on the "Set as default" option and then click on "OK"
  5. If there are two or more “outputs” in the list, select your Z207 speaker
Customer Replay

There's no Playback tab. Just Input and Output

Check Output and make sure your Z207 speaker selected

Customer Replay

ok
will do

Take your time

Z207 isn't listed. How could it be? It's not paired. How else does the machine know it's there?
I've removed my older speakers from Bluetooth.
Though they're still listed.

Did you connect by cable or Bluetooth?

Customer Replay

You mean my old speakers?
Bluetooth

I mean your Z207 speakers

Customer Replay

Well I haven't "Connected" at all. Bluetooth doesn't see them. And they don't show up on any other list. Is the cable line with the two male connectors relevant, going into the speakers on one end and the laptop on the other?
I've plugged those in and they make no difference in anything we've done so far.

Yes, you can connect them by cable. Please make sure that you plug the 3.5mm jack into the correct port on your laptop. It should be a headphones icon near the port

Customer Replay

There's no headphones icon but it's the only available port for that connector.
When you say I "can", do you mean I "should" use that cable?
And if I do, should I not use the regular plug in that goes to an electrical power strip?
That regular plug in to a power strip is what I'm using now.

If you have a Bluetooth speaker with cables, you can use either Bluetooth or a cable connection.

Customer Replay

Okay. So the problem is to get Bluetooth to see the Z207 speakers, right?

Are your speakers turned on?

Customer Replay

The green light it lit.
is lit.
Does it matter which is positioned left or right?

No, I don't think so. Do you see a Bluetooth button on the speaker?

Customer Replay

Not on the speakers but on the box. A Bluetooth symbol. Is that what you meant?
btw, I see the labels "L" and "R" and I have them positioned correctly.

Yes, click the button on the box

Customer Replay

I meant the CARDBOARD box the speakers came in. There isn't any other box.

Understood :)

Customer Replay

Sorry I wasn't clear.

I see the small button on the speaker near with volume knob. You need to press it for a Bluetooth connection.

I just pressed it. I'll try connecting again.
Thanks. Yes, That's the button I pressed. Still no luck. I'll try again with the cable connected, the one that goes from the front of the speakers to the laptop.
I pressed harder and now the green light is flashing blue. Progress.

Yes, it should start flashing, *****

Customer Replay

Bingo! That did it.
Paired. They sound good.

Great!
I’m glad I was able to get that sorted out for you. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Customer Replay
