I can't get my Canon printer to print.

What troubleshooting have you done so far?

I've changed the ink cartridges out, made sure there was paper, and downloaded the printer driver. Printer spits out paper but the pages are always blank.

Please follow these steps to power cycle your printer:

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 1 minute.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  6. Turn the printer on.

Did you try to make a copy of a document?

Actually, I tried printing something first, then tried copying. Blank pages.

Blank pages in both cases, right?

  1. Make sure your printer is turned on.
  2. Hold down the Stop button until the Alarm light flashes 2 times.
  3. Release the stop button. Your printer will start a cleaning cycle. This will take 1-2 minutes.

I've held it down for about a minute with no response. How long is it supposed to take.

Ok, let's try another flow

  1. Turn the printer ON and load one or more sheets of Letter-sized plain paper in the lower cassette.
  2. Open the paper output tray by holding the sides of the paper output tray.
  3. Extend the paper output support.
  4. Press MENU.
  5. Select Setup, then press OK.
  6. Select Maintenance, then press OK
  7. Select Cleaning, then press OK
  8. Select Yes, then press OK. The machine starts the cleaning. This takes about two minutes.
  9. After the pattern, print confirmation screen appears, select Yes, then press OK.
  10. The nozzle check pattern prints. When the completion message appears, press OK

The only setup option I have is for WLAN setup
Don't see an option for maintenance.

Got the image. Don't see that on the machine. Under menu, my options are photo, template print, web services, and WLAN setup.
I take that back, I found a setup option. Let me try those instructions you gave me earlier.
its cleaning now.

Got a message that the nozzle was clogged; I chose an option to clean it.
Quality was okay. Also got a message that one ink level is out. I'm going to change that.
