I have a paper jam that needs clearing

Let's go step by step.
First, try to Press the Cancel button on the printer to automatically clear the paper jam.

Got it.

  1. Press the power button to turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and any other cables from the rear of the printer.
  2. Lower the paper input tray back into the printer, close the output tray extender, and then push the output paper tray into the printer.
  3. Turn the printer to access the underside (base).
  4. Pull the tabs on either side of the cleanout door to open it.

5. Remove any jammed paper found inside the printer.

I located the paper just having trouble getting it out

the paper is so tight I can't pry it out

yes and I pulled on it it came out with a large black spot on it. I can almost reach it - if only i cold get it to somehow roll out. I have quite a bit of experience with paper jams but this one is hard
