Only recently.

And how long has it been since you have made the purchase?

Customer Replay

Ordered on 10/24/2022 to replace a prior deficient one

If you don`t mind me asking, what troubleshooting have you done so far?

Customer Replay

None. Not sure what can be done.

Okay, in this case, let`s start with something very simple and see if it helps, okay?
Let`s try to reset your device first, to do that, kindly proceed to do the following:

  1. Press and hold the side button for a t least 10 seconds.
  2. Release the button when the Fitbit logo appears.
Held for 20 seconds and the logo did not appear
Okay, do you think you can please give it one more shot?
Customer Replay

Also now showing an incorrect time which happened yesterday as well ok have logo now

Okay, I see, did such happen before or have it started recently too?

Customer Replay

Started recently ike in last two days.

There were no incidents prior that might have caused such a sudden change, correct?

Customer Replay

No such prior incidents.

Did you restart the device?

Customer Replay

I had it on charge when this chat was started because charge had almost expired.

Okay, I see.
It`s just that you have mentioned that you were able to see the logo, that is why I asked if you have completed the restarting process

Customer Replay

What is the "restarting process"?

Top answer

The restarting process I was referring to is this:

  1. Press and hold the side button for at least 10 seconds.
  2. Release the button when the Fitbit logo appears.
Customer Replay

ON the second attempt the logo appeared after about 15 seconds.

Okay, then you released the button, right?

Customer Replay

Yes

Great, good job, thank you for following the instruction
Now let`s check for any firmware updates that are available
Do you have FitBit application installed on your phone?

Customer Replay

Yes

Top answer

Perfect! Kindly take these steps below, but ensure that the smartwatch must be close to your mobile device.

  1. Access your Fitbit app on your phone.
  2. Tap the Today tab located at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Tap your profile picture next.
Customer Replay

What next?

Now, kindly click the Versa 4 image on the app.
And lastly, tap the Update button reflected on your screen.
Please note that this button will only be reflected on the screen when a software update is available.

Customer Replay

Watch time changed to correct time

Okay, it must have synced up with the informationon your phone

Customer Replay

ok, but does this fix the short battery duration problem?

Normally it should help, but this is not the end yet, we still have one or two things to check, okay?

Customer Replay

ok

Top answer

Let`s check if you have 'Always on display mode' turned on:

  • Get your Fitbit Versa 4 watch.
  • Swipe down on the screen.
  • Tap the Settings icon.
Customer Replay

ok

Top answer

Once these steps are complete, kindly do the following:

  • Select Display.
  • Scroll down and turn off the feature.
Customer Replay

Still there
I is showing "Brightness"

Okay, have you scrolled all the way down?

Customer Replay

Not sure what is " all the way down"
Screen now just showing
Date and time

Nothing else?

Customer Replay

Nothing else

Okay, I see, do you see those as soon as you open 'Display' part of settings or when you open the 'Settings' itself?

Customer Replay

yes

Sorry, which one is it?

Customer Replay

When i press on side button and choose settings symbol it goes to brightness and almost immediately to date and time

Okay, got you.
It just means you most likely don`t have the feature turned on.
Otherwise, it would have appeared.
What about the brightness of your screen, is it set to the full?

Customer Replay

I do not know how bright is full

Okay, I see. I would recommend adjusting the brightness a little bit, so that it is not wasting the battery of the device.
However, if it makes you uncomfortable, there is no need to do so

Customer Replay

what feature should i have turned on and is this solving the battery duration issue?

Selecting the Dim mode for the screen brightness will also help with the Fitbit battery draining issues.
To make the changes, kindly access the Settings icon on your Fitbit Versa 4 and go to Display. In the Brightness section, choose Dim from the options.

Customer Replay

Ok have done that.

Okay, great!
For now, it is all. Kindly monitor if there is any improvement with your battery draining during this time.
If you will still have the same issue, you can come back to this chat so we can take further actions.

Customer Replay

ok, thanks. i will be suprised if going to dim adjusts draining from 24 hours to several days

Sometimes even something simple like resetting might save you from a lot of issues, surprisingly
