the screen is still frozen

Waited seconds?
Customer Reply
Yes. I held the power button for at least 40 seconds

A frozen Kindle may be the result of a low battery. If you know that your Kindle is low on charge at the time it locks up, connect the device to a power source.

what is the next step?

the next step is :
Slide and hold the power switch until the light blinks. Release it and wait a couple seconds. Then do the same thing again. Your Kindle should reboot.
