My epson 7100 printer is printing in black and white not color in Photoshop

it was working this morning. i have a mac book pro

Short summary:

  1. Check printer settings: Verify that the printer settings are properly configured to print in color. Ensure that the color option is selected and not set to black and white or grayscale.
  2. Verify ink levels: Check the ink levels in your printer to ensure that the color cartridges have enough ink. If the ink levels are low, replace or refill the cartridges as necessary.
  3. Test print a different file: Try printing a different colored file, preferably not from Photoshop, to determine if the issue is specific to Photoshop or applies to all files. This will help narrow down the cause of the problem.
  4. Double-check color settings in Photoshop: Open Photoshop and go to "Edit" -> "Color Settings." Verify that the appropriate color profiles are selected. If unsure, you can try resetting the color settings to their default values using the "Default" button.
  5. Save changes in Photoshop: If you made any adjustments to the color settings in Photoshop, make sure to save the changes before attempting to print again.
  6. Adjust brightness and contrast levels: If the printed output appears dark, make adjustments to the brightness and contrast levels of your image within Photoshop. Fine-tune these settings until you achieve the desired brightness and contrast for the print output.
  7. Test print again: Print the image again using the adjusted settings. Check if the colors appear as desired and if the brightness and contrast levels are satisfactory.
  8. Use default settings: If you find that resetting to the default settings in Photoshop has resolved the issue and the current print output is satisfactory, you can continue using the default settings for future printing tasks.
  9. Further fine-tune settings if necessary: If you still notice room for improvement or have specific preferences for the print output, you can continue adjusting the settings in Photoshop until you achieve the desired results. Experiment with different color profiles, brightness/contrast settings, and other relevant options to find the optimal configuration.
  10. Confirm resolution of the issue: Verify that the prints are now coming out in color and with the desired brightness and contrast levels. If the problem is resolved and the print quality meets your expectations, you can consider the issue resolved.

Good to know!
If you're satisfied with the current results, you can continue using the adjusted settings for future printing tasks. However, if you still notice any room for improvement or have specific preferences for the print output, you can further fine-tune the settings until you achieve the desired results.
