Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Nice to meet you, *****!
Physically locked up?
Yes- light is on for only that key. And I can’t turn it off or on.
Is the button clickable?
Yes, but it doesn’t change.
The entire macbookPro is locked up
Open the Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility > Keyboard, select Viewer and tick the box next to Enable Accessibility Keyboard. If the Shift or Caps Lock key is highlighted as being pressed, try clicking to unstick it and see whether it resolves the issue.
The screen is completely dark and any keys I hit don’t show up
I see, it can be a hardware issue
Can you tell me if recently your device sustained any damage?
No, it’s been on my desktop since I got it. Sorry, I’m not sure of the date I purchased.
No worries
Let's hard restart it
Press and hold the power button on your Mac until it shuts off. After a moment, press the power button again to start your Mac. You may lose unsaved changes in open documents.
Okay caps lock is no longer lit
That's good
How about the screen, Is anything displayed?
yes!!! My name and pic. It’s rebooting I guess
Great:)
