Nice to meet you, *****!
Has your Fitbit been working before, or is it a brand new product that failed right away?

Customer Replay

Nothing on the display at all? Even with the charger connected?

Customer Replay

With it connected to the charger, shows %battery power, time and date.

author

And when you remove the charger, you are unable to get it to show anything on the screen?

Customer Replay

Correct

author

Have you tried pressing the button on the USB plug three times, while connected to a power source?

Customer Replay

There are no buttons on the usb
I have tried swiping the screen and pressing the buttons on the side of the fitbit but nothing happens

Please look for a small round shape on the USB plug of your charger cable.
Here is how it looks :

Customer Replay

Does your charger cable look like the picture?

author

I see. Yes tried the button but the screen just flashes

Customer Replay

Please carry out the following steps:

  1. Connect Charge 5 to the charging cable plugged into a USB charger.
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Yes it worked
What happened to it?

Customer Replay

Possibly a software glitch.
Restarting your device clears glitches, just like with computer

author

Ok, well I'll know what to do if it happens again.
