I have an unended call on my answering machine

It says 21/4 8.03am 03 there is a message on the handset - new CID:29.

Short summary:

  1. Locate the "Off" or "Hang-Up" button on your phone. This button is usually labeled with a phone receiver icon or a red phone symbol. Press this button to end the current call on the answering machine.
  2. If the call does not disconnect, unplug the power cord from the answering machine base unit to power it off. Wait for about 10 seconds, then plug the power cord back in to turn it on again.
  3. Check the display on your phone to see if the ongoing call message is still present. If it is, press and hold the "Off" or "Hang-Up" button again to force the call to end.
  4. If the issue persists and the ongoing call message remains on the display, you may need to reset your phone system. Refer to the user manual of your Uniden Premium DECT XS 916 phone for specific instructions on how to perform a reset or restore the factory settings. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully to avoid unintended consequences, as resetting the phone may erase your contacts and customized settings.
  5. After performing the reset, set up your phone system again by following the initial setup instructions provided in the user manual. This typically involves configuring the date and time, setting up the answering machine, and registering handsets if necessary.

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Can you please specify both the brand and the model of your phone?

when I press the Flash button I get a message "talk" with a continuing beeping
I have 2 hand pieces. Does this make a difference?

If you have two handsets for your Uniden, it is possible that the message on hold is on one of the handsets and not the other. In this case, you will need to check both handsets to see which one is displaying the message and clear it accordingly.

Customer Replay

OK. Could you call me on my mobile phone?

Currently, we don't have the option to communicate via calls. However, I am ready to tackle this problem with you right now via chat.

Customer Replay

OK

Please, check the handsets to make sure

Let's try factory resetting the phone to erase the error:

  1. Press the Menu button on the handset and use the up or down arrow keys to navigate to the "Settings" menu, then press the Select button.
  2. Use the up or down arrow keys to navigate to the "System Reset" option, then press the Select button.
  3. Use the up or down arrow keys to select "Deregister All", then press the Select button.
  4. A confirmation message will appear on the display screen - use the up or down arrow keys to select "Yes", then press the Select button.

The following messages appear on the 2 handsets. Handset #1#1 New CID:23 and Handset #2#2

I see
It sounds like the "New CID" message is indicating that the phone system has received a new Caller ID number. This message typically appears on the display screen when you receive an incoming call, and the phone system is able to identify the caller's phone number.
In this case, it appears that Handset #1 received a call with Caller ID number 23, and Handset #2 may have also received a call with Caller ID information, but the display may have cut off or not properly updated the information.
To view the complete Caller ID information on your handsets, you can press the "CID" button or "Talk" button during or after the call. This should display the complete Caller ID information, including the caller's phone number and name (if available).

Can the problem have something to do with the words that appear under Handset #1#1 that says New CID:23?

Top answer

It's possible that the "New CID" message on your Uniden handset could be related to the issue you're experiencing with the phone not ringing.
Let's try resetting the phone this way:

  1. Unplug both power and phone lines from the main base.
  2. Remove batteries from all handsets
  3. Wait at least 15 minutes, then restore them all
This should help to erase the error too
Customer Replay

Ok

Have you been able to unplug everything and remove the batteries?

Customer Replay

yes

Did anything change after that though?

Customer Replay

Handset 1 shows this on it;s screen - Top 12:00A Q = Middle Handset #1#1 - Bottom New CID:23, Still not able to clear the call on hold in the answering machine.
I have tried swapping the handsets on the bases too.

Top answer

Please, try this:

  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Press and hold the Star * and Pound # Key.
  • Reconnect the battery while holding down both keys.
  • Wait for a long beep: The phone will now register itself to the new base, and the handset has been restored to factory default settings.

Please, also note that resetting the phone to factory defaults will erase all data, including contacts and call history.

Customer Replay

Have done this on both hand pieces. Still a call on held in the answering machine area on both hand sets
On HOLD

Okay, I got you.
Are you sure that the phone has been restored to factory settings?
If yes, you should not have any call history. Can you please check?

Customer Replay

How do I do this please.

Try to press the "CID" button on the phone, which will display the numbers of the last 50 received calls.

Customer Replay

What is the CID button?

This button is located to the left of the "up" button

Customer Replay

Is that the "clear" button?

Number 4 on the screenshot.
