author

Do you have ports to connect the speakers to the front side of the tower?

Customer Replay

author

Still no sound?

Customer Replay

i haven't tried it, yet. i will do that now.

author

Customer Replay

i did, no sound.

author

Got it.
Just curious, have you tried to connect your speakers to another device?

Customer Replay

no, i do not have another device to plug them into.

author

Do you have wired headphones?

Customer Replay

no

author

Okay. Do you have a smartphone?

Customer Replay

yes

author

Can you please say to me, what type of connection your speakers are? Are they like that
no

Customer Replay

Okay, got it.
How old are your speakers?

author

at least 5 years old

Customer Replay

Since we have done pretty much everything, I suspect that your speakers just died. The best way to check, if the problem is still with the PC is to buy some cheap headphones to check the PC sounds. Because if the PC will give a sound with the headphones then there is a problem with the speaker.

author

ok, thanks.

Customer Replay

Is there anything else I can do for you today?

author

how long do speakers last?

Customer Replay

Well depends. What brand is yours?

author

altec lansing

Customer Replay

I had one that was working for more than 14 years and sorta still working, but also has ones that died after 1 year.
So it's like a lottery.

author

okay, thanks, Hanna, I will check it out.

Customer Replay

For Altec Lansing, 5 years is not bad. But they are not the best, so.

author

I remembered that one time, I used the speaker that were built i nto the computer moniter. Can that work?

Customer Replay

We can try.

author

ok, t hanks.

Customer Replay

Thank you!
In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, and then select Control Panel. Click Hardware and Sound. Under the Sound tab, click Manage Audio Devices. On the Playback tab, click on the option for monitor sound. It should be named after your monitor brand.

author

Hanna, why am i having a problem going to my taskbar?

Customer Replay

Are you not able to open it?

author

I can't bring up the bottom taskbar.

Customer Replay

Try this:
On the Windows desktop screen, click Start. Click Control Panel on the right side of the Start Menu.

author

I got it, the Dell microphone was muted.
I mean speaker not microphone.
I will try sound.

Customer Replay

Sure.

author

Have a good night!
