Have a WF7710 printer which is wonderful except that today it displays 'printer error' with 100005 at the bottom

Short summary:

Step 1: Turn off the printer

  • Locate the power button on your printer.
  • Press the power button to turn off the printer.

Step 2: Open the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)

  • Look for the ADF, which is usually located on top of the printer.
  • Gently lift the cover of the ADF to open it fully.

Step 3: Keep the ADF opened

  • Make sure that the ADF cover remains in the open position.

Step 4: Turn on the printer

  • Locate the power button on your printer.
  • Press the power button to turn on the printer.

Step 5: Wait for the printer to load

  • Allow the printer to go through its startup process.
  • Wait until the printer finishes loading, indicating it is ready for use.

Step 6: Check for paper jams

  • Look at the rear paper feed slot of the printer.
  • Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in that area.

Step 7: Repeat the process if necessary

  • If the problem persists after following the above steps, repeat the entire process.
  • Turn off the printer, open the ADF, turn on the printer, and wait for it to load.

Step 8: Verify if the problem is resolved

  • Check if the printer is now functioning normally without any error messages.
