Today was my first ride experience with Uber

As I was not very familiar with the app when booking I have been charged $53.11 ( this is the charge in question) to travel from my home to the Clinic. Then the actual trip which was $58.17 and the return trip of $57.14. All of which a total of $168.39 when it should have been $115.28. As I have limited funds at the moment due to being off work with an injury I find this quite inconvienient. What can be done about this?

  1. *Select the trip you'd like to request a refund for.*
  2. *Scroll to the bottom and tap "Get trip help"*
  3. *Depending on what you'd like to request a refund for, select "Review my fare or fees" or "Review my cancellation fee". If you don't see either of those buttons, please tap "More options" down below.*
  4. *In either one of those menus, select the most accurate reason for why you'd like to have your fee or fare reviewed. Please note, that certain categories may be missing, depending on whether the ride was cancelled or completed, when it was cancelled etc. If prompted for additional informaion, please be as detailed as possible.*
  5. *Finish by tapping on the "Submit" button. Uber will review your request and will either process your refund or get in touch with you for additional clarifications.*

It is only showing 2 ride charges but on my bank account I have had 3 amounts deducted from my account.

What looks like an extra or duplicate charge on a trip is likely an authorization hold. At the start of a trip, Uber may place a temporary authorization hold for the upfront price of the trip on your payment method. This also includes trips that are later canceled.
Uber immediately voids the hold, though it may take a few business days to reflect in your account While all 3 amounts have already been deducted from my account they're all still saying pending.
Then one of the charges will soon be refunded:)

Thank you, do I need to do anything or will it just be automatically returned to my account?
