MY HP ENVY PRINTER 4504 HAS GONE INTO ERROR CODE AND I CANNOT FIND OUT WHY

THERE IS NOT ONE. IT IS IN ERROR ON THE PRINT SCREEN.
NO CODE NUMBER
IT PHOTO COPIES BUT THATS ALL. SOMETHING BETWEEN PRINTER AND LAPTOP???
What troubleshooting have you done so far?
Just switching everything off and back on again. Put HP disk in and will not download.
Got it. So you can make copies, but can't print, right?
correct. Tried connecting internet and by cable. Disk just says class not registered.
Want to print a document.
Did you check the print settings in Windows?
I did not. Have just done it and reset printer as default and its working. Many thanks.
In the software application you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.
The Print window opens.
