Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Are you sure that your voice messaging is enabled?

Customer Replay

Unsure

I got you.
Please, follow the instructions below:
Sign in to your account and, in the Manage features section, select Call forwarding and voicemail. Check that the status is Enabled. If it’s not, select the button to enable it. https://secure.skype.com/account/

Customer Replay

Done

Next, try signing out of Skype and signing back in again: in Skype, select your profile picture and select Sign Out , and then sign back in. Voice messaging should now be enabled.

Customer Replay

On the 2 messages which show as Anonymous, if I click on that, it goes to "invite to skype" or "add credit"

Alright.
Can you open Skype and check if the issue persists?

Customer Replay

Still doing the same

Do you want to retrieve voice messages that you sent to a specific person?

Customer Replay

No. I want to retrieve voice messages that have been left for me

May I ask from whom?

Customer Replay

I sent you the screen shots. Anonymous

banner 9

Don't you think they deleted the voice messages?

Customer Replay

No. They can't

I got you.
Let's try to retrieve your voicemails.
In the following messages, I will provide you with step-by-step instructions. I would be grateful if you could tell me when you complete every step.

Customer Replay

Will do

  • Launch Skype and log in to your account.
Customer Replay

Done

  • Activate Skype's voicemail feature by selecting the "Voicemail" tab and clicking on the "Activate my voicemail now" button. If you already have a Skype Online Number or unlimited subscription package, then this feature is already enabled by default.
Customer Replay

It says its enabled

  • Click on the "View" menu and select "Voicemail Messages."
Customer Replay

There is no view menu. Just a list of recent chats, 2 of whuch show voice message
Afain, when i clixk on them, it gies to a page that sats "invite ti skyoe" or add credit"

As you can see from the photo I just sent, it shiws the voicemail but with an exclamation mark

Yes, this is a default Skype page. Under these buttons, you can see the voicemail at the bottom of the screen.

Customer Replay

Yes but showing an exclamation mark when you click on play

Can you move your cursor on the exclamation mark?

Customer Replay

Yes

Does it show the reason why you can't listen to the voicemail?

Customer Replay

Left click does nothing, right click just gives options to reply, downliad, save as, forward etc
Do I need to add credit to receive the message

I don't think so. Most likely, the voice message is too short. That's why you can't listen to it.
Can you listen to voicemails from other users?

I got you.
Do you have the same issue with the mobile Skype version?

Customer Replay

Yes

I understand.
You can try to disable Call Forwarding temporarily:

  1. Sign out of your Skype account.
  2. Close the Skype application.
  3. Launch the Skype URL at https://www.skype.com/en/
  4. Login into Skype account via My Account on the Skype website.
  5. Locate Manage Features and select Call forwarding and voicemail.
  6. Check the Call forwarding option to disable it.
  7. Wait patiently for 3 to 5 minutes before re-enabling the call forwarding option.
  8. Log out of the Skype website.
  9. Re-open the Skype application and log in to your Skype account.
This should take care of the problem and Skype voicemail should start working properly again.

This just made things worse. Made me log on under Microsoft. Now bot showing any of my chats etc. Nor could I find manage accounts

You had to open the Online Skype version.

Customer Replay

I entered the url you gave me

Did you log in to your Skype account?

Customer Replay

It made me login through Microsoft
The new one showing doesn't have my uk number showing or any chats or contacts

Okay.
Can you open this link?: https://web.skype.com/

Customer Replay

How di I cancel the microsoft skype

Do you mean your Microsoft Skype subscription?

Customer Replay

Yes I can open that link but again, its the microsoft one. No profile photo, no purchases, no chats etc

I want you to know that Skype is a Microsoft product.

Customer Replay

I realise that. But it looks like it has set up a whole new account. Not the one I've been using
