I have just had vodafone installed this week & I'm struggling to get the wifi working on my Now tv sticks

How far should I be able to pick up the wi fi away from the router?

Short summary:

  1. Place your Wi-Fi router at least five to six feet away from your TV and any other devices which could interfere with the signal, such as your microwave.
  2. Make sure the modem is in an open space and positioned as high off the ground as possible (at least on a table or piece of furniture). Avoid placing the modem behind a TV or in a cabinet.
  3. Check if your TV is connected to Wi-Fi. If not, go to Settings on your TV, then click on Network, and select Set up Connection, and Wireless.
  4. Check if your Wi-Fi is listed in the available networks.
  5. If you are seeing error 014.4 on your TV, check if the modem is turned on and if the LED lights for 'Power', 'Internet', and 'Wi-Fi' are a steady white and not flashing.
  6. Ensure that all wires are correctly connected and not loose.

As a rule of thumb, place your Wi-Fi router at least five to six feet (1.5 to 1.8 meters) away from your TV and any other devices which could interfere with the signal, such as your microwave.
Make sure the modem is in an open space and positioned as high off the ground as possible (at least on a table or piece of furniture). Windows, walls and anything metal can affect the Wi-Fi signal. Avoid placing the modem behind a TV or in a cabinet.

Thank you my microwave is no where near, & is placed on a table, but the router is one end of my bungalow & TV is the other end. Is this going to be a problem??

It is not going to be a problem, *****. Tell me please, did you try to connect your TV to the Wi-Fi?

Customer Replay

Yes, before changing to Vodafone I was with Virgin Media & that worked fine, but after changing the settings to Vodafone, it just wont reach. Any ideas??
