I am trying to find out how my wife can take an UBER ride

but she doesn't have an Uber account. I do. Can I pay for her trip in advance and then she doesn't have to worry?

Sure.
Open the Uber app, then tap Schedule or the button that says Now located just to the right of the "Where to?" bar.

Im in but they are asking for a name so the driver knows it is me but they will be picking up my wife and not me. So not sure what to do. You can tell I don't use these services very much

You can put your name, it's no problem
I would also recommend that your wife download the Uber app and try to sign in through your account

If my wife has my credit card number, can she just give that to the driver? Trying to do this in and it isn't working. So simple. I just want to find out if I can pay for either Uber or Lyft in advance. Wish this was easy but it isn't.

Unfortunately, you can only pay in cash or pay within the app

So Lyft has all my information but they are trying to do the trip now. I. know your are trying to help but this is clearly an issue that I can't seem to resolve easily.

Now set your destination, then tap the 'Plan ahead' calendar icon on the ride type selection screen. Tap 'Schedule,' choose a date and time, then tap 'Set pickup time. ' Confirm your pickup and drop-off location, then tap 'Schedule.

That seems like the easiest but I got to the locations and schedule on Lyft and now they say there is something wrong and I don't know what it is. It doesn't tell you.

You will receive an email only at the end of your trip, but you can track your via your phone
