How do i change language on Roku

Short summary:

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll and select "Settings" from the menu.
  3. Select "System" and then "Language."
  4. Choose the desired language from the list of supported languages.
  5. If the language selection is not working, press and hold the button on the side of your Roku stick for 20-30 seconds to reset it.
  6. If the issue persists, locate the Reset button on your Roku device and hold it for 15 seconds to perform a reset.
  7. After the reset, your Roku device should be back to the default settings and you can set the language again.

  • Alternatively, hit the Home button and then the up arrow button. This will have the Settings screen pop up, regardless of which language is set on your Roku.
  • Hit OK to select it.
  • Then, hit the up arrow one more time you’ll go to the System options.
  • Hit OK again.
  • Hit the down arrow two times and click OK.
  • This should open the Language options screen.
  • The top language on the list should be English. Select it and confirm with the OK button.

  • Select Advanced system settings.
  • Select Factory reset. If you have a Roku TV, select Factory reset everything.

    David, I had a similar issue, and what worked for me was power cycling the Roku device. Have you tried that?
