We at Howly have four options on how to enter BIOS on any ASUS laptop. Follow them – and you will enter BIOS in 1-2 minutes.

Classic way: with the F2 key

How to enter BIOS with the F2 key

This method works on 80-90% of ASUS laptops. Turn down the PC and boot it, holding F2 and Power buttons simultaneously. If it doesn’t work, press and hold the F2 before activating the laptop.

It’s a classic way that works with most laptops from this manufacturer. If this option doesn’t suit you, try other solutions.

Alternative way: with navigation and other function keys

On some models, you need to hold the Delete or Insert key while the system is booting. Sometimes it can be the F10 button. Press and hold one of these keys right after you boot the system. If this way to enter BIOS on ASUS doesn’t work for you either, try Windows hacks.

Windows 10 way: with the settings

If both hotkey ways don’t work for you, try the settings methods. Here is your short and easy guide to entering BIOS on Windows 10 and higher:

  1. Click on the Windows icon.
  2. Look for the gear icon and click on it. That’s how you open the settings.
  3. Select: Update & SecurityRecovery Advanced Restart now.

While the computer restarts, it gives you a few boot options. Look for Troubleshoot Advanced UEFI.  Choose Restart. Your PC will restart again, but now it will boot in BIOS first.

Windows 8 way: with settings, but in a different manner

This process is similar to the Windows 10 solution but has a few key differences. Here is what you should do if you are working on Windows 8 system:

  1. Press both Win and C keys. This action will open the Charms bar.
  2. Choose Settings Change PC Settings.

If you own a Windows 8 laptop, stick to this path: General Advanced Restart.

If you are a Windows 8.1 user, follow this guide: Update and Recovery Recovery Advanced Restart.

Once your computer boot, follow: Troubleshoot → Advanced → UEFI.  Then select Restart. After that, your ASUS laptop will boot in BIOS.

Conclusion

As you see, it’s not as hard as forum users can describe. Stick to our instructions on how to enter BIOS on ASUS, and everything will go smoothly!

First of all, try to hold F2 while you turn on the device. If this doesn’t work with your laptop, hold F10, Insert or Delete. Those 4 shortcuts work with most laptops on Windows or Linux systems.

But if even this doesn’t help, open the troubleshooting settings. It will take a few more minutes to visit BIOS, but it works out for every Windows computer. If you have a Linux or Windows 7 (or XP), the only user-friendly way to enter BIOS is by using shortcuts.
