Want to retrieve deleted messages in messenger app
i permanently deleted them. I have I ph 11
Short summary:
- Open the Messenger app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap "Archived Chats."
- If the desired chat is archived, swipe across it from right to left.
- Select "Unarchive" to return it to your active Messenger chats.
- Note that if you have permanently deleted a chat from Facebook Messenger, there is no way to restore it unless you ask the other party to provide screenshots of the conversation.

To check to see if you archived your message instead of deleting it in the iOS Messenger app:
- Open the Messenger app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Archived Chats.
- If the chat were archived, you would see it here. Swipe across it with your finger from right to left and select Unarchive to return it to your active Messenger chats.

If you deleted a chat from Facebook Messenger, there's no way to restore it other than asking the other party to send you screenshots of their end.

To request a copy of your Messenger data:
- From Chats, tap your profile picture in the top left.
- Scroll down and tap Account settings.
- Scroll down to Your Facebook Information and tap Download Your Information.
- Tap Deselect all, then tap next to Messages.
- Tap Create File to confirm the download request.

I didn't know that permanent deletion of Messenger chats couldn't be undone. Good to know for the future.
