Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?
*****
Nice to meet you, *****!
What is the model of your phone?
Samsung CE0168 Oyster
Thanks.
What troubleshooting have you done so far?
entered 2 pins that I thought were correct but were not
have not tried the third
I see.
Now thw phone has gone off and won't restart
Did you reset your phone?
it is now on and requesting the pin
no, I do not know hpw to
Okay.
Please, follow this way:
Is everything clear?
I tried that the phone went off, but restarted again asking for pin?
What happens when you hold Volume Up and Power buttons?
Do you get the Android Recovery screen?
It switches the phone off. and then just restarts requestingpin
I see. Please power off the phone completely and only after this, press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons.
Its completely off now I'll start again with volume controlpressed
Thanks! Continue to hold Volume Up and Power buttons until the Android Recovery screen appears then release both buttons.
asking for pin!
Got it
the pin request just stays on
It seems that CE0168 is not a phone model but a tablet one. Are you sure it is correct?
Yed
It is an oyster slider mobile
Noted, thanks!
Do you have the Home button at the bottom of the phone?
If I take the battery out it clearly shows as CE0168
Got it
No it is on the side
I see
Sorry the Volume button is on the side
I do not know the home button
It is an oval or circle button at the bottom. Do you see it?
I have just taken the sim card out
Got it
Yes there is an oval button on the other side
Not in the center of the bottom edge?
Centre of the bottom ia the C button
Noted, thank you!
Please follow these steps:
Does the sim card need to be in?
No. If the SIM card is inserted, it may lead to contact deletion on the card.
Let me know if you get the menu screen and what you see here
Still trying to boot as requested
After step 2, right?
Yes, just not starting at all now, did start earlier but requested sim Card
Ok, got it. Please try to power on it back by holding the power button.
just started now, I am recharging at the same time, I think batter is low it is asking for sim card
Do you use the PC or laptop now?
laptop
Do you have a camera on your laptop? If yes, may I ask you to send me a photo of your phone screen?
I don't use a camera, it is the standard Screen of a sim card stating inset SIM
Got it
I see. Please put the sim card in and dial *2767*3855#
It is a command for the reset.
Try *2767*3855# or *2767*2878#.
I have put the sim in but the phone is not starting, give me a moment
Sure!
getting there, now asking for pin!
Were you able to enter *2767*3855# or *2767*2878#?
can't call the number without the pin
Try entering the code by just using the keyboard, not trying to dial it.
I cannot try it as the pin box is on the screen and it will first complete the pen and fail for a third time!
I see. Did you try the 0000 PIN?
Are you talking about the oyster phone?
0000 worked! I am certain the phone never had a pin
It is a default code. So is it unlocked now?
Thanks for your help. It seems fine at the moment yes
That's so good to hear! Is there anything else I can do for you today?
Why would it suddenly ask for a pin?
Did you restart it before it asked for the code? It may ask for a security code for the SIM card after restarting it.
I will start it now again, thanks
I’m glad I was able to get that sorted out for you :)
