I turned my tv around a little, as I often do and it stopped working

I checked all the cable connections. When it still wouldn’t work I turned the sky box and tv off, took out my sky card and waited over half an hour. When I turned on again, I got a moment’s sound and image, very quick, then nothing

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Could you please specify the model of your TV?

Customer Replay

Panasonic

Noted, thanks
Could you also tell me the exact model of your Panasonic TV? The model number is usually located on the front under the Panasonic name.

Customer Replay

oh help! When I turned the tv to read the model number it leapt into life! But sky isn’t working. It’s asking me to ensure the correct viewing card is inserted with the chip facing up, which it is.

I see. Maybe the problem was with one of cables

Model number TX32LXD700
ITS OLD! But works well.

Let's start fixing your Sky TV

  1. Check that your viewing card is firmly inserted with the arrows pointing towards your Sky box and the card chip facing down. The viewing card is located at the front of the box in the bottom right-hand corner - on some boxes, it's exposed, however on others, it's behind a plastic cover/flap which can be pulled down.
  2. If your viewing card is inserted correctly, remove it from your Sky box and then reinsert it back into the correct slot, ensuring that the arrows are pointing towards your Sky box and the card chip is facing down.

Let me know if something is unclear, and keep me posted, please.

I found the card with the chip facing up. It’s on the right side of the sky box, near the front at the top. Should o try it the other way up?

As I've mentioned above, the card chip should be facing down. Let's try to place it with it's chip down
And arrows should be directed towards the box, too

Ok will do.
have done that. Can still use the TV guide but not sky

Let’s try one more thing that might work better in this case
To restart the box, please follow the steps below:

  1. Press the standby button on your Sky remote, then turn your Sky box off at the mains.
  2. After a few moments, turn your box back on at the mains.
  3. Wait four minutes, then press sky on your Sky remote.

Just turned the power off and on.

Great. Just checking in.

Now I’m getting no sky, but the tv guide is still working.
I will. Would like to watch the rugby!
Just turned my sky card to chip uppermost as told on the screen, and it’s working!
Thanks for your patience. I’m very happy.
