I need to recover a WORD document

Could you please tell me how exactly it got corrupted or deleted?

I'm not sure. The file is showing with listed WORD documents and has a pin next to it but when I click on it ...Sorry we couldn't find your file

With the pin next to it. Could you please specify if you're trying to access the file from Word directly?

Yes, directly, which is how I would do normally. Actually, I had this doc on my Desktop

It's gone from the Desktop collection
I would not have knowingly deleted this file

I absolutely understand your concern. Please try these instructions:

  1. Click Start, type a portion of the document's name into the Search box
  2. Open Documents (or, if you think you saved the document somewhere else, press the Windows Logo Key and E simultaneously and double-click on "Local Disc (C:)"), and then type a portion of the document's name into the Search box in the upper right corner of the window

Try also changing the name of the document or saving it to a different folder
