I need help with my sons xbox log in

Short summary:

  1. If you haven't already, try restarting the console by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller to open the Power Center, then selecting "Restart console" and "Restart".
  2. If that didn't work, remove your account from the console by pressing the Xbox button to open the guide, then selecting "Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts", selecting your account, and confirming the removal.
  3. Turn off the console by pressing the console power button for around 10 seconds until the Xbox is completely off.
  4. Wait a couple of minutes and turn it back on.
  5. Try to remove your account again by pressing the Xbox button to open the guide, selecting "Profile & system", then "Add or switch", and selecting "Add new".
  6. Enter your Microsoft account email address and password, and complete the personalization settings on the next several screens.
  7. Select "Instant sign in" so that you don't have to put in a password each time he wants to sign in.
  8. Check for updates by making sure your console is connected to the internet, pressing the Xbox button to open the guide, selecting "Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates", and selecting "Console update available" to begin the update or "No console update available" if your console is up to date.

My son has somehow logged out of his xbox. I have entered his email & password and got to a screen which said - "Is your security info still accuarate" but it wouldnt allow me to click on "Looks good" .. when i went back a while later .. i tried again but then the screen went blank ..

Could you please restart your console by following these steps:

  1. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox controller to open the Power Center.
  2. Select Restart console.
  3. Select Restart.
  4. After the console has restarted, try to sign in again.

Please, try to remove your account from the console:

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select Profile & System> Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

It took me back to sign in screen .. i pressed the B button to go back .. and now the screen is blank except for green bars at top & bottom of the screen

Please, follow these instructions:

  3. Wait for a few seconds and turn your console back on.

when i press that i get "what would you like to do? Turn off console, turn off controller or restart console

That is Power Center, wich you get by pressing and holding the button, right now you just need to quickly press it.

I think i'm in .. just put red redemption disc in .. says installation stopped .. think it may have been doing an update before the log in issue happened

Got it! After is finished installing the game, I would recommend checking for updates.
Here is how you can do that:

  1. Make sure that your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select Profile & System> Settings > System > Updates.
  3. Under Updates, you’ll see:
    - Console update available. Select this to begin your update, or
    - No console update available. This means your console is up to date.
