Could you clarify, what part this tape covers?
There is a white electrical part on top of the valve with two metal prongs sticking out. On top of this part is a gray piece of tape covering the top. The white plastic part is held in with a metal bracket and covers the top of it. It is on this part that the tape is covering. The old valve has no tape just an open hole where it was leaking.
