I have a BYOD for my company I work for using outlook, teams on my Iphone 13 apple mobile.

Recently we purchased the office 365 paying yearly for a family subscription for our personal files and information. I was hoping due to send some files from Google Drive to manage in Office 365, but my company security is getting in the way and I'm afraid it will delete all files. Any suggestions for managing these seperately?

Short summary:

  1. Reopen the Office 365 app and select "Ok" to the message "org data removal".
  2. To switch between personal and work accounts, tap your profile photo in the upper left corner of the app window.
  3. Touch "Add or Switch Accounts" at the top of the left menu bar.
  4. Tap the account you would like to switch to.

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Could you please specify how your company security is getting in the way?

So I opened Office 365 on mobile app, and it states 'your organization is now protecting its data in this app. You need to restart the app to continue'

Have you tried restarting the app?

I'm afraid it will delete my iphone phone data due to a security breach. So, if that is the case maybe I just continue in Google Drive and Google Photos
no I haven't restarted app, does that mean delete it and reinstall?

First, let's simply close the app and reopen it
To close an Office 365 app:

  1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
  2. Swipe right or left to find the Office 365 app.
  3. Swipe up on the Office 365 app's preview to close the app.

Okay done that it states 'org data removal' and states your organization has removed its data associated with this app 607. To continue your must restart this app. To reconnect to your organization, sign in to your work or school account.
I have to select Ok to the message above

If you select Ok, your iPhone data will not be removed

Yes I followed instructions above, and closed app, and reopened and then the message above appeared.
Are the profiles separate, or if I join Company office 365 they will have access to my personal files?

Do you mean the personal files on your phone?

Customer Replay

So, personal profile vs company profile are they separate?
It now states 'Account Privacy Settings' your account privacy preferences have been dowloaded and applied to this device. Go to privacy preferences for more info

Your personal and work accounts same as OneDrive storage remain separate.

So on my laptop I wanted to move files from Google Drive to Office 365 personal files. However, I was concerned the company I work for on my mobile would have access to my personal files.

They would not have access to your personal files.

Okay that's good to know

Is there anything else I can do for you today?

Customer Replay

Do I need to be careful so I don't breach security? Or can I easily switch between both personal and business profiles and that's separate.

Top answer

To switch between accounts you will need to:

  1. Tap your profile photo in the upper left corner of the app window.
  2. Touch Add or Switch Accounts at the top of the left Menu bar.
  3. Tap the account you would like to switch to.

Thanks and those two accounts as you have suggested are separate. We pay personally for Office 365 family sharing for my personal profile. And my company I work for pay for a business Office 365 with a separate work profile.
