How can I restore the documents that I altered?

I used to belong to a group where we worked with Google Docs. After I left I continued to get all of their Google Docs. I wanted to clean them out of my Google Docs folder, but I ended up changing their ability to access their documents.

Okay, but have you deleted all that docs or just changed their ability to access those docs?

I had clicked "Remove from view" on those documents thinking that they would still be there but that I would not see them. I do not see them, but neither do the other people

*****, please try the steps to recover the Google docs first:

On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
On the left, click Trash.
Click the file you want to restore.
At the top, click Restore. Tip: You can sort your trashed files by trashed date to find the oldest or newest files trashed.
You can find restored files in their original location.
Keep me posted on how it is going, please.

Thank you, but I tried that already. The files did not go into trash. Instead when I click on the document it says "You restricted access to an item"
Actually I can still see them, but the other people cannot and I cannot find a way to change the access

Okay, have you tried to renew the access to renew access to that documents? Since you have the rights, it should allow you to do it.
I will really appreciate if you could provide me with a screenshot of that menu with "restricted access", please.

To take a screenshot, press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3.
If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Or wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.
To attach your screenshot to our chat, you need to press the paper clip button in the lower right corner of the chat window. Then you have to choose an image and confirm sending.

Here are instructions on how to share the restricted document with other people:

Select the file you want to share.
Click Share on the top right. It's a picture of a man with + symbol
Click the drop-down arrow.
Choose to share the file with Anyone with the link.
To decide what people can do with your file when you share it, select either, Viewer, Commenter, or
Editor. Click Copy link.
