FB does not delete the data itself. It also doesn't stop the site from recording more data after the wipe. But once you learn how to clear your Facebook search history, you can do it regularly.

Facebook doesn`t delete searches after a certain amount of time has passed of inactivity in the search bar. FB does not delete the data itself. It also doesn't stop the site from recording more data after the wipe. But once you learn how to clear your Facebook search history, you can do it regularly.
However, if you click on the search bar without typing anything, you'll see a list of your past search results. You can view all your past search queries in your activity log. You can also clear your recent searches.
To delete all searches:

  1. Tap. in the bottom right of Facebook, then tap your name.
  2. Tap below your profile picture, then tap Activity Log.
  3. Scroll down to Logged Actions and Other Activity, then tap View Logged Actions.
  4. Tap Filters at the top, then tap Categories.
  5. Tap Search History.
  6. At the top, tap Clear Searches.
