Hi. My land line phone using the Uniden Dect 6.0 system has become locked in a "line in use" situation despite no phone being in use

it occurred a couple of hours ago and seems to be as a result of trying to add an additional cordless phone extension

*****, "Line in use" is displayed if the line is currently active on a call. Confirm no one else is on the line. If you have multiple handsets, it is possible that one of them is turned on so check the rest of the handset and turn it off.
No handset is in use. all have been checked.

The system has come back on of its own accord before I turned off the modem !!!!!!

It would appear so. Now I have to try and connect in the new extension handpiece
