It is a Samsung TV and the remote is the one that came wit the cable box.

No. It turned after I unplugged the cable box and plugged it in again.

*****, could you please remove the batteries from the remote, then press Power for 8 seconds to reset it? Then reinsert the batteries and try to use the remote again.
