My son plays Roblox and games from Steam, it was working but yesterday his games starting lagging really bad

Both on Roblox and Steam. The computer works fine, otherwise

Short summary:

  1. Update Graphics Driver: Go to the official website of the graphics card manufacturer (AMD in this case) and download the latest driver for your specific graphics card model.
  2. Clear Steam Cache and Cookies: Right-click on the Steam desktop app and select "Run as administrator." In the Steam settings, go to the Downloads tab and click on the "Clear Download Cache" button.
  3. Reinstall Graphics Drivers: Download the AMD Cleanup Utility from the AMD website and run it to remove any remnants of the previous graphics driver. Then, download the latest graphics driver from the AMD website and install it.
  4. Reboot the Computer: After reinstalling the drivers, restart the computer to apply the changes.
  5. Test Games: Launch the previously lagging games and check if the lag issue has been resolved.

Yes. I bought my son Untitled Goose Game last thinking maybe it wouldn't lag and it did too. And he's tried several different games on Roblox too and it does the same thing.

Oh goodness, I tried updating the graphics driver, but it didn't need one. I've restarted my internet, restarted the computer itself.

Did you try to download the games, not from steam?

The games he plays have to be bought through steam and then you download them.
Now on Roblox you have to download the "app" then you can on the the website and play from there.

Let's try to reinstall the drivers.
I know you told me that you reinstalled the drivers, but deleting your old driver from Windows may not be enough since some settings can still be preserved in your Windows Registry.
So let's clean the drivers again using Display Driver Uninstaller or AMD Cleanup Utility.

  1. Click AMD Cleanup Utility for Windows®
    (https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amdcleanuputility.exe) to download the standalone utility
  2. Go to the save location (Downloads folder, as example) and double-click amdcleanuputility.exe to run. to download the standalone utility.
