My roku remote would not change change channels or turn off the TV this morn

Now I can't turn on the TV and I changed the batteries.

Short summary:

  1. Remove the batteries from the remote control. Make sure to take both batteries out completely.
  2. Hold down the power button on the remote for 15 seconds.
  3. Put the batteries back into the remote.
  4. Try to turn on the TV using the remote. If it still doesn't work, proceed to the next step.
  5. Make sure you can see the front of your Roku device. When the device is powered on, there should be a status light on the front.
  6. Test the remote from various positions. Hold the remote higher and point it downwards at the front of your Roku streaming device. Move the remote to the left and right, always pointing it directly at the front of the device.
  7. If the issue persists, try re-pairing your voice remote with your streaming device by following these steps:
    a. Remove the power cable from your streaming device.
    b. Wait at least 5 seconds.
    c. Reconnect the power cable.
    d. Wait for your streaming device to power on and the Home screen to appear on your TV.
    e. Within 30 seconds of seeing the Home screen, put your voice remote into pairing mode.
  8. If the remote still doesn't work and the small unit plugged into the TV has a pinkish blue light, try the following:
    a. Put your voice remote in pairing mode by pressing and holding the pairing button on the remote for 20 seconds.
    b. The status light on the remote should slowly flash green, stop, and then flash rapidly. Release the pairing button when this happens, and the remote will restart.
    c. Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds or until you see the status light begin to flash. If the light doesn't flash, charge your remote.
    d. Wait for 30 seconds while the remote establishes a connection with your streaming device.
  9. If the remote still doesn't work, try replacing the batteries with new ones.
  10. Press and hold the pairing button again after replacing the batteries. The small light next to the pairing button should light up.
  11. Follow the steps provided earlier to pair your remote with your Roku TV.

Customer Replay

No. do you have a list of the different Roko units . I might remember If I saw the names.

Depending on which Roku® streaming player or Roku TV™ you own, you will have one of two general types of remote: Roku simple remote. Roku voice remote.

Customer Replay

I can use my voice with this one. Is there one that has the number 42 in it?

Top answer

There are only 2 remotes currently, one with voice and one without voice. Thank you for clarifying that you have the voice one!
Always be sure you can see the front of your Roku device. When the device is powered on, you should see the status light on the front of the device.
Test your remote from various positions. Try holding your remote higher and pointing it downwards at the front of your Roku streaming device. Move the remote to the left and right, making sure it is always pointing directly at the front of your streaming device.
I would recommend you follow these steps to re-pair your voice remote to your streaming device
