I was using my old mini I pad last night and suddenly it went blank then came up with Activation Lock it’s telling me to enter the Apple ID and password that was used to set this iPad

as this is quite old I have entered what I think but it’s say it’s wrong also my email address is now different,

Okay.
1. Go to iforgot.apple.com
2. Enter your Apple ID email *****@btinternet.com and enter the verification code.
3. Select the option to reset your password, then choose Continue.
4. Choose to answer your security questions, not sending to email, since you don't have access to it
anymore
5. Follow the onscreen steps to reset your password

That’s fine but do I need to do this on the old iPad as I can’t get anything other than that page or can I do this on my newer one.
