It's a cable that goes through the Wifi router, but I have bypased the wifi and plugged the cable into the computer and the problem persists.

I'm sorry I think were chasing the wrong problem. My issue is that I intermitnently lose inmy internet connection. And when I reboot my computer I get it back. I don't see how port, cable or ISP could be the problem or I would get internet back just by rebooting.

Okay I did that it shut don't my computer and rebooted. So am I just suposed to wait and see if it solves the problem?
