I just bought a new laptop, and i connected it to my monitor wich supports 144hz and i have it connected via a 1.4 hdmi cable

The problem is that even thought i have all the drivers updated ,i cannot change my resolution to 1920x1080p at 144hz . I tried to change it in Nvidia's control panel as well, but when i change it i get a black screen. Please help,i really need it!

Nice to meet you, *****!
144hz refresh rate with 1920x1080p resolution (or higher) can only be achieved with any of the following outputs due to bandwidth requirements:
HDMI 2.0
DisplayPort 1.2
DVI-D (dual-link rate)

Ok, but what about 120hz with 1920x1080?

Please note, the highest option available with 120hz is 1440x900.
