Nice to meet you, *****!
It is generally a good idea to ensure that your computer meets the system requirements for an operating system before upgrading to it. If your 8.1 HP desktop meets the system requirements for Windows 11, then it should be able to support it.
You can check the system requirements for Windows 11 on Microsoft's website. Some of the key requirements include:
If your computer meets these requirements, it should be able to support Windows 11. However, it is always a good idea to back up your important files before upgrading, just in case.
You can tell me model of your device so I will look for it in more advanced way :)
This is what I have IntelCore (R) Core (TM)i7-4790T CPU @2.70GHz 64-bit Operating Systemx64-based processor
Got it!
Can you please name me a model of your 8.1 HP desktop?
Click the Windows "Start" button and type "HP" in the Search field. Choose "HP Support Assistant" from the displayed results. Your model number and other information will be displayed along the bottom edge of the Support Assistant window.

But there should be a model like in example below :HP ENVY 20-d000
HP ID BHVS464001
Thank you!
Welcome
Product Number ***** Serial Number *****
Oh, great! Thank you
I am getting messages that 8.1 will not be supported by windows after January 10th. Will this happen to my computer please
Got it!
Support for Windows 8.1 is discontinued, but the software will continue to function. However, after January 10, 2023, your computer running Windows 8.1 will no longer receive security updates.
So there wont be just updates to it, but it will work for you
In my opinion, the less updates coming - the better desktop working
But it's just my take on situation :)
Thank you. I was hoping that I would not have to buy a new computer. But if anything goes wrong will windows still repair system
Yes, it will auto repair
It will work fine, it's just new updates wont come - but it's alright
Many thanks. That is just what I wanted to know.
