I forgot my password for my new Motorola Phone.

Short summary:

  1. Ensure your Motorola phone is charged:
Make sure the battery is at least 30% charged before proceeding.
  2. Power off your Motorola phone:
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears.
Then tap "Power off" and confirm the shutdown.
  3. Boot your phone into recovery mode:
Press and hold the power button and the volume down button simultaneously.
Keep holding both buttons until the Motorola logo appears.
Once the logo appears, release the power button but continue holding the volume down button until you see the Android recovery menu.
  4. Navigate to the "Wipe data/factory reset" option:
Use the volume buttons to scroll through the options in the recovery menu.
Select the "Wipe data/factory reset" option.
To confirm your selection, press the power button.
  5. Confirm the reset:
On the next screen, you will see a list of options.
Use the volume buttons to scroll down and select the "Yes" option, which confirms the data wipe and factory reset.
Press the power button to confirm.
  6. Wait for the reset to complete:
The factory reset process will now begin.
    Wait patiently until it finishes.
This may take a few minutes.
  7. Reboot your phone:
After the reset is complete, you will be returned to the Android recovery menu.
Use the volume buttons to scroll to the "Reboot system now" option and press the power button to restart your phone.
  8. Set up your phone:
Your Motorola phone will now reboot and start-up as if it were brand new.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your phone, including creating a new password or PIN.
