I just bought the watch yesterday at Best Buy. A Samsung rep set the watch up for me. I do not know what the app looks like.

No. There is a red Power button and a black button below it

Maybe it was caused by the update or some software glitch
Usually no, the device should work just fine!
So when I put it on, if not working, push Power button for 30 sec.
