Bosch Maxx washing machine - washing comes out still very wet even though it does spin

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Customer Replay

*****

Nice to meet you, *****!

Customer Replay

Same here - I am not technical minded and I need to sort this problem out!

Could you tell me the exact model of your Bosch Maxx?

Customer Replay

I think it is WFL 1662 6 Kg. That is what is written on the machine

Thank you.
Have you tried to use different modes?
Or change spin speed.

Customer Replay

How can I change the spin speed It just says "spin" on the machine. I am also not sure what mode you are describing. I usually put it on the short cycle minutes. I see there is something on the machine saying 800 and 400. Never used it.

Is that the new washing machine?

Customer Replay

No, it is a couple of years old - I will say about 6 years.

How long ago did you clean the filter?
I mean your washing machine filter.

Customer Replay

I do not even know where the filter is!!

I got you.
In the following messages, I will provide you with step-by-step instructions. I would be grateful if you could tell me when you complete every step.

Customer Replay

OK, but I have nothing to wash tonight. Can the machine run without anything in it? Sorry for all the silly questions!

You don't have to run it, don't worry.
First, turn the appliance off and disconnect the power, then turn the water supply off.

Customer Replay

Anton, this is going to be impossible. It is sort of built in but I will try and move it forward and turn off what I can. Pls be patient with me!

Don't you want to call the tech to your house?
And they will perform it instead of you.

Customer Replay

OK, I managed to switch off and turn water tap off. I live in South Africa - technicians are very very expensive here - maybe I can sort it out myself.

Okay.
Lay a towel on the floor and place a large tray or shallow container on top for the residual water to be drained. Unclip the pump cover to find the black drain hose.

Customer Replay

How do you mean unclip the pump cover. There is a green pipe which is connected to the tap and then a grey pump running into the outlet to take water out to drain somewhere.

You should find the pump cover on the front side of your washing machine.

I did click on it and I can see where filter is. I just cannot get it to loosen up.
OK. Got the filter out. Not much water coming out and it sort of looks clean to me.
Can I stick finger into the hole to see what is coming out?

Please don't do this!

Customer Replay

I stuck a cloth in there - it sort of came out clean. Do not worry - I am wearing rubber shoes. But i know it is dangerous.
I suppose I must screw the filter back in?

Please do it and could I ask you to switch on spin again?

Customer Replay

I am going to do it now - just be patient - I had a back operation so bending down takes a long time. I will put a towel in, switch everything on and then put it on spin. Will let you know what happens.

Do not worry, I am waiting!:)
Please, stay careful!:)

Customer Replay

Ok, put it on spin now. Waiting and seeing what is happening, although the machine now make a humming sound. Not bad, but still there

Keep me updated please!:)

Customer Replay

OK, spinning quite fast now. Has stopped now all of a sudden, but I suppose spin cycle is still not finished.

Please, wait till it will be finished.

Customer Replay

Spinning very fast now. If it was an aeroplane, it would have been on the runway now!
I think part of the problem was that the machine was jumping around when spinning - it was not level. If have sorted that out now.

I think so!:)

Customer Replay

Now it is just turning, but I think it will start spinning fast soon.

We are waiting!:)

Customer Replay

It stopped now - just give me 60 seconds to see when the door will unlatch.

Of course!:)

Customer Replay

Door is open. I will have to do a wash tomorrow to see if it is sorted out. Must I put the washing machine maybe on another mode, ie. not the 30 min cycle, but maybe a longer one?

It depends on your wishes, but the long leaf does not affect the spin.

Customer Replay

Could you tell me what the knob is for that says 800

Could you describe me where is this knob?

Customer Replay

It says 800 and underneath it says 400 and there is an arrow pointing down. It sit next to the "on" knob

This should be the number of revolutions during the spin mode.

Customer Replay

So I should switch that on when I switch machine on. You know what - I think I figured out what went wrong - I found a small coin outside machine once I took the filter out. I think that blocked the filter.

I agree with you.
It must have fallen out.

Customer Replay

I think I have sorted the problem out. Just one more question - should I switch that knob on which says 800 - 400 on when I switch machine on?

I recommend you not to switch it.

Customer Replay

Because I actually do not know what it is supposed to do. And then the very last question - do you also do computer support? (laptop)

Of course!:) We can help you with your laptop or PC!:)

Customer Replay

Thank you so very much. I do appreciate your help and will make use of you again. Have a good evening!
