Changing DNS settings

Social media, which has become a necessity in many life aspects today, may sometimes become blocked overnight. There are many reasons for this, of course, such as not being able to access the server, or being blocked by countries.

For instance, some time ago, back in 2008, Youtube was blocked in many countries. Even then people were able to bypass the block thanks to Vpn, Proxy, and DNS settings. However, at that time, computer use was not so widespread and Internet culture was not in every home, so people who wanted to get their work done went to Internet cafes. In other words, it was not much of a problem for those who did not receive Internet service from home.

But now the Internet is a necessity. So, for your convenience, we've outlined a few ways to access blocked or banned content. In this article, we'll teach you how to change DNS.

Now let's try this very simple, DNS change process:

How to change DNS settings
  1. From the notification area at the bottom right of your computer screen, right-click on the network icon that shows that your wired or wireless network is connected.
  2. Click the "Open the Network and Sharing Center".
  3. Under "Connections", click on "Local Area Network Connection" or "Wireless Network Connection", whichever you are using to access the Internet.
  4. You will see the "Local Area Network Connection Status" window if you are connected by cable, or the "Wireless Network Connection Status" window if you are connected wirelessly. We continue by clicking "Properties" in this window.
  5. In the "Properties" window, double-click on "Internet Protocol 4 (TCP/Ipv4)" to open it.
  6. On the last screen, you see that the DNS settings have changed.
  7. Place one of the current DNS addresses where you see it on the screen and click "OK".

Major Current DNS addresses:

Google DNS: 8.8.8.8.8 - 8.8.4.4

Open DNS: 208.67.220.220 - 208.67.222.222

Comodo: 8.26.56.26 - 8.20.247.20

Yandex: 77.88.8.8.8 - 77.88.8.8.1

Norton ConnectSafe: 199.85.126.10 - 199.85.127.10

As you can see, you can easily fulfill the DNS change process and access banned sites through different servers without any obstacles.
