Vibration doesn’t work on iPhone

Many users of Apple gadgets are faced with vibration faulty and lost sound on the iPhone. The most common cause of the problems is incorrect sound settings. Sometimes it is enough to check the settings of the Apple smartphone and set the right parameters to fix it.

If the sound settings are OK, but there is no iPhone vibration or sound, you should look for the cause of the problem in the device's hardware.

The main causes of vibration alarm failure on Apple smartphones

If the vibration does not work on the iPhone, check the sound settings first. Perhaps the Apple smartphone is in silent mode, so it mutes the vibration. If the settings are normal, but there is no vibration signal, probably the cause of the malfunction is one of the following:

• Incorrect operating system update
• Oxidation or corrosion of elements
• Mechanical damage caused to the vibration motor
• Vibration motor loop rupture
• Moisture entering the enclosure

Any mechanical damage to your iPhone can lead to the breakage of contacts, which is a common cause of device malfunction. To determine what caused the malfunction, it is recommended first to diagnose the phone.

Lost sound and vibration signal due to system failures

If your Apple smartphone is not vibrating correctly, try returning the device to the factory settings. Some applications may disable vibration or automatically set the silent mode. You can solve this problem in the following way:

• Restart the smartphone (press the Power button and Home button simultaneously, and hold for a while)
• Restore the backup
• Download the latest firmware and update the system

This usually solves the problem. If fixing system errors does not help, try finding another cause of the problem.

Phone failure due to moisture

The vibration ring on your smartphone often stops working because of the moisture trapped inside the case. A few water drops can lead to oxidation of the contacts and, consequently, the failure of iPhone vibrosignal. To cope with the failure yourself, you need to do the following:

• Prepare a special set of tools for repairing Apple devices
• Turn off your phone
• Gently unscrew the screws on the Apple smartphone
• Place the suction cup on the front panel and pull it slightly toward you
• Open the connectors
• Remove the housing cover and disconnect the battery cables
• Remove the battery and dry the iPhone with a hair dryer

After that, assemble the phone in the reverse order, turn it on and check the settings. If the vibration signal still does not work or there is no sound when calling, most likely, the vibration motor needs to be replaced.

Replacing the vibration motor

If iPhone does not work correctly in vibration mode, the possible cause of the malfunction is damage to the vibration motor, which requires replacement. Before repairing the equipment, it is recommended to check the settings and reboot the device by holding down the Power button and the Home button.

After rebooting, you need to turn on the desired mode on your phone and check its operation. If this does not help, you better find a specialist to help with the replacement. It is not recommended to replace the vibration motor by yourself.
